SUPPLY LIST
(for weekend workshops)

EASELS
Easels are provided for you at the workshops in Victoria
***You MUST bring your own easels for workshops in Vancouver  ***

CANVASES
2- 24X30”OR 30X30” stretched and primed
canvases
no boards, wood or canvas boards

BRUSHES
1-2" or 3"  Natural bristle (only) house paint brushes
3-4 Artist paint brushes
(flats or filberts up to 2" wide)
no water color brushes or pointed brushed

PALETTE
You can use cardboard, wood, plastic, waxed paper
for a palette or purchase a palette pad or wet palette
Palettes should be large
no water color palettes or dishes
AVOID SMALL PALETTES

PAINTS
Use only "artist quality" ACRYLIC paints
(no fluid or student grade paints)
Tubes are best but you can use jars if that's all you have
Recommended brands:
STEVENSON, GOLDEN, ISLAND BLUE, LIQUITEX, GRAHAM &SON, DA VINCI, LUKAS
COLOURS
BURNT SIENNA (A MUST HAVE)
DIOXAZINE (VIOLET) PURPLE
AZO OR CADMIUM RED LIGHT
ALIZARIN CRIMSON
YELLOW OCHRE
CADMIUM YELLOW
TITANIUM WHITE
HOOKER’S OR SAP GREEN
ULTRAMARINE BLUE
CERULIAN BLUE

WATER CONTAINER
coffee cans, large yogurt containers, small bucket
RAGS OR CLOTH
paper towels NOT recommended

PHOTOGRAPHS-(assortment)
(only bring photos you love)
(no photos of other artists paintings,
portraits or nostalgic photos from your past)
(DO NOT BRING PHOTOS YOU THINK ARE EASY TO PAINT)
Choose magazine pictures or photos you like and
find exciting visually!!!
(do not worry if you think you can paint
the image or not - the criteria is simply
whether or not you love the image)
